With a 5 year shelf life to match our Rations, our Emergency water packets provide a full meal?s hydration to one individual and are purchasable by the case of 64 or by the three-day supply (12 packets). Balanced with our rations to provide adequate hydration without over-burdening a carrier in case movement during a disaster is required, our Emergency Drinking Water is Coast Guard approved as sanitary and safe, unlike bottled water which is subject to absolutely no federal standards. Tough packaging stands up to weather and shields water against inhospitable conditions. Available for purchase by the 3-day pack or by the case. Case contains 64 individual water packets, to be consumed with meals, one packet four times a day. Shelf life: 5 years.

Anyone that has ever been in an emergency situation can tell you that a few things become necessary immediately - medical care, food, water, shelter, fire. While I wish Amazon would look into possibly flat rate shipping of these 20 lb boxes, I would rather pay the shipping and have emergency water when needed than be one of the many hoping that emergency services are going to take care of them (they won't because they can't). Remember, it took FEMA five DAYS to get water to the survivors of the disaster in New Orleans, so that should be a good yardstick for any family to know how much they should have in reserve should disaster strike. If the shipping cost is really not within your budget right now, get fewer boxes at a time and order more later, or check local Army/Navy surplus stores or camping stores, but ALWAYS check the expiration dates - many times these are already a couple of years old. Amazon suppliers are usually shipping you the newest stuff with a full 5 years to go.
