I purchased this water bottle after a long search for a BPA free water bottle for my son. He loved the solar system design, and functionally the water bottle works very well. However, after less than 10 uses I noticed that the paint was peeling off the bottle - after about 20 uses, the paint was off 60% of the bottle. I contacted Crocodile Creek, the rep told me that the bottle are NOT dishwasher safe - which was the cause of the paint peel. I probably would not have purchased this item had I know it was not dishwasher safe - it's just not practical in a busy family to be washing this by hand every day. However, to Crocodile Creek's credit, they did offer to replace the bottle. Also - purchased the vehicle s/s bottle for my other son - it had only minimal peeling after the same amount of use (the rep did say that some designs were more prone to peeling than others).
