I had given up on detecting. I tried it again on the beaches while on a recent trip because the digging is easy in sand, plenty of room for error. When your at a park, or anywhere you have permission to dig however, you need to know where the target is so you can dig out and replace a plug as to not damage the lawn. Pinpointing can be difficult. You will find many people with a dusty metal detector in their garage because they gave up. The first hole I pinpointed with the DetectorPro returned a coin. Time spent from turning on the detector to having the penny in my hand with the DetectorPro was 1 minute. Since then I have dug about 60 holes with the pinpointer and so far only 3 of those holes turned up nothing. I have a huge pile of change (filled paper plate and stacked up) a handful of some junk and TWO necklaces from a single hole! I am learning that many of what I thought were empty targets, really were not. Instead, the item was in the grass plug, deeper then I realized, flew out of the hole while digging and the one I noticed the most... the item I was looking for was often right there in plain sight!
