I researched just about all the rafts listed on amazon that would be "pirate" related and all of them had bad reviews. This raft had no reviews, so I bought it anyway, figuring that the price made it worth it, even if it just lasted through the party. It was a bit hard to get blown up because of it's size. A compressor made it easier. Also, it arrived with a hole in the canon holders (it came with a patch kit, but we didn't have time to patch it before the party, so we just left it deflated). The rest of the raft withstood 6 kids mostly ages 5 and 7 jumping on it all of the same time. My husband fliped the kids on it and they jumped from the side of the pool on to it. The top piece comes off and has a velcroe attachment that was easy for the kids to fix, so if it flips, the top piece detaches which made it much safer for the kids if it did flip. The girls used the top portion over the shallow end of the pool as a mermaid house while the boys played ship wreck and pirates with the big portion of the raft. The kids loved it and I was pleased. We are still using it almost a month later. The little pirate ship that comes with it is pretty worthless. It serves as more like a kick board. There is a gun attached that works really well. I would reccomend this product for a bday party or the kid who is a pirate enthusiast. Lot's of ways to use your imagination with this one.
