Sevylor also added its patented oval "boat-within-a-boat" DIN safety chamber, which inflates inside the main outer chamber to keep you afloat even if the chamber gets punctured. With the DIN chamber, you can float down the river secure in the knowledge that you won't sink.

About Sevylor The road from Sevylor's founding in 1948 to its current role as the dominant supplier of a wide range of inflatables--such as kayaks, boats, and towables--is a long one, with plenty of original inventions and innovations along the way. Established in a city suburb of Vitry, France, by electronics engineer Berco Grimbert, Sevylor originally built electrical accessories, with a sideline business dedicated to using its high-frequency welding machines to manufacture PVC consumer goods. The first inflatable to receive rave notice was a small bathtub called the Dou Dou. The boat came in a rather small box. I was concerned that it could never hold a boat big enough for two rambunctious young teenaged boys, 2 oars and a pump - but it did. We were fortunate to find an air pump at the lake so we didn't have to use the foot pump that comes with it so I can't comment on the pump's performance. The boat inflated quickly and easily. Very sturdy and bouyant. Stood up to a weekend of boys climbing in and out of the boat and diving off into the lake. They had a wonderful time with it & plan to include it on all future trips.
