Lightweight and portable, the SE9 is made or 38mm Polykrylar, a tough, long-lasting material that's highly resistant to both punctures and impact tears. As a result, the boat can handle almost any challenge, from pond fishing to yacht tending to relaxed river running. The boat is also super stable thanks to its five air chambers: a main chamber, an upper safety chamber, a motor-mount support, and two floor chambers. The included floorboard set makes the boat even firmer, with a rugged, easy-to-assemble marine plywood surface for standing stability and hull rigidity. And even though the boat holds up to five people, you can also use it for a solo trip with a ton of gear, as the SE9 supports up to 1,200 pounds.
As with all of Sea Eagle's motor-mount boats, the SE9 is compatible with a variety of small motors. The lightweight boat can literally motor all day on less than a gallon of gas. If you're boating on a lake that bans gas engines, you can opt for a small electric motor, which will push the boat along quite well. Or you can go with no motor, as the boat also includes molded oar clasps and four molded oarlocks for manual paddling.
The SE9 fisherman dream package comes with Sea Eagle's MM-3 motor mount, which works better than other mounts because the aluminum tubing bends back into the hull for added stability. Sea Eagle also added a gray painted marine plywood seat for the passenger who's controlling the motor, along with a convenient high seat for other passengers. Both seats include underneath storage for items like coolers, tackle boxes, or gas tanks. The motor-mount seat offers space for a single passenger, while the middle seat holds up to two people at once. Additional features include two 56-inch aluminum oars, a high-capacity foot pump, an all-around grab line, a bow towing grommet, a bow carry handle, a pressure gauge, and a repair kit.
