I bought this mask earlier in the week and it came in this morning. I am disappointed with it. First, the mask is more see through than in the pictures. I would say about 70% see through. Granted that should serve a purpose. Someone/something taking a passing glance at you with this mask will easily dismiss you as long as your are camo'd up and in the bush/tree/blind. Even with your skin and hair darkening up the mask while you are wearing it it is still just too see through for my liking. The pictures make it look like it is 50-40% see through and I thought at dusk this would be the bomb up in the tree stand. Last year when I was hunting I needed one of these since I was spotted. My chair squeaked as I was starting to move from my chair and the doe had passed me. The squeak drew its attention to me. I was still in the chair and I was completely still. Either my scent gave me away or it was my face. This mask can work. Just it is flawed. Not only because of it being more see through than I expected, but the eye opening and fit was off. I had way too much slack on the top of my head. Now, don't dismiss this. I have a fat head. I have to try multiple fleece masks at bass pro to find one that does feel like it is cutting off circulation. Most baseball caps I am either on the last little peg or run out of pegs. I got a fat head and their pattern is off. The nose guard while nice is a little uncomfortable due to the way they sewed mine. It was a little jagged and I have to wear glasses as well. I don't want my nose to be uncomfortable. Finally, the eye opening is way bigger than in the picture. I could almost put both of my ears through the opening. It is like I got the XXXL version of the mask. It works, but in almost every way it was flawed in my opinion. It was only $5. My sister little sister thought it was awesome and was playing around with it. She knew I didn't like it and was asking if she could have it. I will probably give it to her. The only real positive thing I can say about it is that it is breathable. I could have got a defective mask, but it let me down. Mine was the real tree version.
I actually bought a second mask like this. I thought it was non see through. I was going to pack both masks in my bow hunting bag and if I got hot or it was warmer I would use this mask. If it was a little cooler or I needed a non see through mask I was going to use the other. Turns out the other mask I bought had a bad picture (or best misleading light ever)and it turned out to be a net mask as well. It was better constructed in every way and it was only 25% or so see through. If you are looking for a better fitting, breathable, more camo coverage, and better material mask jump on this other one. It is only $2 higher. Look at the break-up version to understand how see through it is. It does get more realistic with you wearing it.
