Grandma gave this to our son on his 5th birthday and he likes it fairly well. As others have mentioned, the worst thing about the table is the plastic goal/scorekeeper combo. These are plastic "baskets" that are screwed onto each end of the table & are supposed to catch the puck when it goes through the goal. Problem is they are too shallow and the puck can't clear the goal slot - resulting in the puck simply getting stuck in the slot each time someone scores. These same baskets also have numbers printed on them for scorekeeping & you are supposed to attach a small pointer to each basket that slides back and forth. The plastic pointer pieces, however, are very hard to snap onto the goal baskets and one of them broke when I tried to put it on. Ultimately it didn't matter as we just removed the goal baskets completely. Now we have to keep track of the score ourselves but at least the puck clears the slot, making scoring a much more satisfying and less annoying process. Aside from that, the table itself seems pretty durable, the fan does a good job of supplying enough air to keep the puck moving, and the play experience is actually fairly fun.
If the goal baskets worked better I might give this 4 stars, though 3 is probably more accurate either way. Our son loves air hockey (and dad too) and this is a decent device given it's size. Ultimately, however, the smaller table is inherently less exciting than the real thing. It's priced about right and is fun for occasional use but don't expect it to replicate the real arcade experience.
