Over the years, our junior gun club has had positive experiences with two Homak Gun security cabinets, so we decided to buy another, primarily to store club rifles and ammunition. The quality of safe, and the finish, locking system, etc., are adeguate for our situation and to be expected at this price. The safe works well to keep the curious kids at bay, but the safe won't deter a serious theft attempt. Recommend other layers of security with this safe (place the safe in a secure, locked room, for example), and then don't store expensive items in this safe. The adage that you don't use a $2.00 lock to protect a $100 item applies here. The only problem we've encountered with the design and manufacture of this safe is that the racks installed inside of the safe have an adhesive backing that just don't hold the racks in place. The plan is to attach them with screws through the back of the safe.
