I purchased both an XL (advertised at 32-34 waist size) and an XXL (advertised as 36-38). My son is 14 yrs old and has about a 31" waist at most. (32" jeans fit very loosely). He could not even pull either pair of these football pants up over his hips. And strangely, the XXL appeared smaller than the XL. Had to return both to Amazon -- love Amazon Prime! -- and find another option. My ten year old wears this style of integrated pad football pants and they work great.
