I purchased a new "scratch and dent" sample of this machine from a local used sports gear place. They specialize in scratch and dent sales from distributors etc., and I got a fantastic deal on this model at $399. For that price, it's fantastic. :) However, if I'm going off of the retail price or the Amazon price, I'm going to be a little more picky. Pros: Fairly heavy flywheel (good for smooth operation), very sturdy construction, good "geometry" (pedals do not "tilt" a lot during their travel like some designs), wide range of magnetic resistance, and very smooth motion Cons: 18 inch stride (though this is a pro for me due to my short legs), ineffective built-in fan, poor built-in speakers (an iPod can't drive them to anything approaching a realistic volume), fixed incline (not even manually adjustable) Bottom line, I really don't know if I'd pay full price for this machine, but for what I paid, I think it's a great machine
