I look at reviews and had read the only one posted at the time, for this machine; however, it was reviewed on the bases of shipping and not the actual equipment, which I find worth the investment!
I place my order on a Monday, and my equipment arrived on Friday morning of the same week! I was surprised that it had so many parts, but I was even more surprised that the instructions were so detailed that any person of normal intellect could understand them.
The manual includes a complete parts list, pictures, exploded diagrams, explicit instructions, and even contact information for those that would like a professional to perform the work. To assemble, it takes two people due to its weight and dynamics, my son helped to put mine together in only five (5) hours - start to finish, although it probably could have been done in half that time 2.5 hours; I am a stickler for accuracy/details, and I like to take my time and understand the why. There were only three tools that are not included, which we had in a toolbox; they are a rubber mallet, a Phillips screwdriver, and an adjustable wrench. They suggest no power tools.
I looked at the iFit website, and like that my elliptical is equipped for the electronic personal trainer, however, with the adjustable resistance, digital indicators, I see no reason to purchase an alternate motivator - having the use of this machine at any time of the day or night in my home, is motivation enough for me!
The machine is nice and strong, the cool air fan is both quiet and effective; naturally, it is not as powerful as an independent unit is, however, for the workout, it is most effective, and the cool air fan does function by the user's choice. Except for the occasional squeak of the souls of my shoes on (what I term - shock absorbent) oversized foot pedals, I do not hear any noise.
This is about my 2.5/3 week of use and I am definitely noticing the results in cardio and physical conditioning.
