A pair of electronic earmuffs usually cost $100+. At this price, I gave it a try. The earmuffs are somewhat bulky but not heavy and generally comfortable. They provide good noise insulation. I have no reason to doubt the NRR 27 spec. The biggest problem is that the electronic did not work on the one I received. For people who don't know what electronic earmuffs do: they have a microphone to pick up sound and send it to the speaker in earmuffs so that you can hear conversations when there is no loud noise. When the noise goes beyond certain level, the circuitry should automatically cut off to protect your hearing. (I used to think that electronic earmuffs worked the same way as noise cancellation headphones.) Amazon provided me easy return. But I decided not to try another pair due to cheapiness of the general build quality.
