The Duck Dictionary gives the types of calls, explains why the calls are made, how to make the calls, and most important, when to use the calls. It is well organized, well researched, and demonstrates how to make each different call, which is the purpose of the dictionary. It addresses the single reed and double reed duck calls but very summarily addresses the whistles used by teal, widgeon and pintail ducks, which comprise a significant amount of the ducks in the flyway most Texans hunt in. Kent Cullum does address the importance of a call that makes a realistic quack. The Duck Dictionary is an excellent reference and call teaching DVD. It is relatively short, and is not a "Bubba and Me Shoot Duck" DVD.
I wish it addressed duck identification in the air, but it is a dictionary of duck language, and a primer on calling, not a duck hunting DVD. I wish it was made in a CD, as my vehicle does not have a DVD player. It does not reference my favorite call, Charles Smith's Cadence Call, but since the video is sponsored by Hobo and Echo, this makes sense. I bought the DVD through Amazon, and it was promptly shipped by Mack's Prairie Wings.
