I bought these as cheap darts to throw around at boxes. The shafts are plastic, which was rather disappointing. I had to replace them right away with some spare metal shafts. The dart tips are black, and standard. Since I only play for fun, I cannot comment on how well these fly, or how accurate they are compared to others. But for the price, they are a lot of fun. Perhaps the Nodor Gunmetal Steel Tip Darts are better, since the description says these are steel shafted.
