Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
I have been playing darts for about a year now (every day), and have limited my dart purchases to those found at the local sporting goods stores. I purchased these darts because I wanted a high quality dart set that I could compete with. These darts were a great purchase for me. Once you learn how to properly throw the cheaper darts, you begin to realize that the cheaper darts in the local stores are just that, "Cheap". The shafts break, the points break off, the finish wears away etc. I wanted a set of darts that performed as well as they looked. I purchased these darts 4 months ago, and use them nearly every day.
Features:
- I chose Tungsten because I wanted a slim dart that I could grip well, and one that would have great balance. Unbalanced darts tend to wobble after throwing them. These darts are perfectly balanced, and never wobble. They go where you throw them.
Weight:
- I weighed these with a digital scale. They are "Exactly" 24.0 grams for the fully assembled dart. A nice weight for me, that allows me to really feel the dart and control where it is thrown.
Thickness:
- Very Nice. If you want an idea of how thick these darts are, go grab a #2 pencil and hold it like you would a dart. These darts are just a tiny bit thinner than the pencil is; not bad for 24-Grams. They are not shaped like the pencil; they are perfectly round :)
Grip:
- The grip on these darts is fantastic. The "Razor-Grip" feature really makes a difference for me; way better than the other cross-cut designs. The tungsten material helps to keep the grip from wearing away, and makes the dart very durable.
Shafts:
- The shaft is made of aluminum, and features a "spinner" for the flights. In the 4 months i've owned these, not a single one has broken. As a matter of fact, the flight has "never" even come out of the holder even once (still using the originals!). And to top it off, the spinner feature really reduces the wear and tear on the flights themselves, as they spin when another dart hits them, limiting direct damage.
Style, Appearance and Durability:
- These are attractive darts with a quality appearance. The Red/Black/Tungsten colors are a nice match. These darts can really take a beating. I am still waiting for the points to go dull. The paint on the points is only now, just starting to wear away at the tip. (if these fall on the hard floor nose first, they are going to dull a bit as expected). I use a large thin piece of plywood on my floor on the area beneath the board, and that does well to protect the tips. It's in the garage so it does not look bad. Although, I have had bounce outs come back as much as 5 Feet, so not much you can do there to protect them.
Case:
- The case is a nice addition, it does the job of protecting the darts and is nice and attractive. It is made of plastic with a metal latch, with plenty of slots for extra flights.
Overall Impression:
- I am completely satisfied with my purchase, and I recommend them. These darts were everything I expected. The price is about mid-range, and the darts are worth every penny in my personal opinion. Would I buy them again? Sure, but I probably won't need to for a long time. Do in WIN more often with these? Although results are not typical, I would have to say Yes for me (small increase in win percentage)
A Final Word:
- I have learned that the game of darts is all about the thrower. The darts themselves are only going to make a minor difference in accuracy. The only way to know if these darts are going to work for you, is to try them out, unfortunately (every player is different). I recommend these darts only after you are fully trained in the art of throwing, and are comfortable with your accuracy. These darts will go where you throw them. If you are still learning, these are still great darts, but I recommend learning on some more cost-friendly ones before upgrading to these bad boys!
