The picture and title is correct "Wood Canoe Paddle". At the time I wrote this (Oct 2010), the "Product Features" section refers to a plastic paddle with telescoping aluminum pole. That description is not for this product. These are WOOD paddles. I bought these to hang on the wall as a part of a camping/lodge room decoration I was doing. I ordered the 2 1/2 foot ones which are the perfect size for my smallish room. They are pine or some kind of 'white' wood with clear varnish. The varnish coat makes them appear to be very waterproof.
