I give this 3 stars because it indeed works. However, it's an involved process. First, you assemble the stove which is nothing more than placing the fuel tab holder into the bottom - there is a notch it fits into. Then you fill up the holder with water, put in the grounds holder, screw the lid on, place it on the stove and light up the fuel tab. All pretty obvious and straight forward. The stove itself is very susceptible to wind so you'll need a wind screen or the flame will just blow everywhere. You'll need to place your cup under the ejection spout so if the flame is blowing your cup will suffer a bit. It makes a good cup of coffee. Absolutely no complaints. But, it's the cleanup that makes it a 3 star item. You must be near a continuous water source. The grounds have to be flushed out of everything or of course the stove cannot be placed back into the holder for storage. The bottom of the holder is gritty with tab residue so you need to clean that up with some effort. Rubbing it with a rag in water does it but it indeed must be done as the residue is significant. So, you clean the holder, disassemble the stove, fiddle around for a minute getting everything to fit back together neatly and you are done. I like good coffee but for me this is a lot of work. A cup of instant while not great still gives me an honest, reasonably pleasant experience and all I have to do is boil water. Of course, there is another downside - all this does is make coffee. You can't do anything else with it. If you absolutely must have your favorite grounds then this is an honest solution.
