It is solidly made of mdf with a wood veneer finish, fully assembled and ready to play right out of the box. The set includes authentic feeling, though diminutive accessories, including solid wood cue sticks & balls, and even the chalk for the cue sticks. What's most impressive is that, despite the small size, it plays like a full-sized table. It has a smooth velvety playing surface, and the balls and cue sticks, though sized for tiny people, are weighty enough to be satisfying for an adult to play with - which has happened a lot, since this game has come into our house.
