One napkin sketch and a few girly words later and
voilá, the world's first-ever fitness skirt was brought to life. The first few prototypes were handmade by Nicole, including one she wore a few weeks later to a first place victory at Ironman Wisconsin. A fitness revolution was underway.
Fast forward to 2010 and Skirt Sports is still cranking out innovative fitness apparel. One skirt has turned into an entire collection of products including dresses, outerwear, accessories and more—all designed in Boulder, Colorado.

I was hesitant to buy a running skirt because I knew I wanted shorts underneath. The first one I bought from a different company was too thick and the shorts didn't stay in place. A fellow runner suggested Skirt Sports and while they are pricey, they are worth every penny! I don't like wearing regular bike shorts to run and other running shorts chafe after a few miles. This is the perfect combination to hide and protect my thighs at the same time. The skirt isn't heavy and the shorts have tiny air holes in them to keep you cool. Perfect for any run. I've used it for 3-18 miles and it's perfect no matter the distance. I am about to buy my second one for an upcoming marathon.
