So I'll admit that I bought this little hatchet for no purpose other than that it was on sale, it was beautifully constructed, and I love Estwing designs and products. I tried to use it to make kindling, but it was too small and light to work efficiently. It's best as a travel tool, when you have to compromise working efficiency for smaller size and lighter weight. Now I take it camping and backpacking.
It's a great tool for what it is!
