I was first introduced to air-casts by a soccer playing buddy of mine in 1989. At the time I had a severe 2nd degree sprain that was not but 2 days old, yet I was able to play a few games of sand 6 man volleyball because of this cast.
Since then it's been a trusted friend. That old injury gets re-injured from time to time, and when high-tops are not enough, or when I have to wear dress-shoes, I turn to this brace. It really works - it keeps the ankle straight and provides a great deal of lateral strength.
It works as advertised, and will last about 6 months of daily wear.
