But when I know I will be on my feet for an extended period of time, I need extra ankle support. This ankle brace gives me moderate support. I like the material for the summer as the neoprene ones are better for the winter. The laces / velcro straps combo were kind of strange at first but they provide a secure and comfortable fit. There is elastic in the heel area so there's a little give and your ankle/foot isn't entirely immobile. It fit fine in my shoe and did not interfere with my custom orthotics. I wore socks underneath. It takes a little time to put this brace one as I can't simply slip it on / off like other braces. I intend to get a second one for my other foot.
