It is hard to find dash-mountable altimeters anymore. This one is economical (compared to GPS units), works great and looks good on the dash. The barometer ring is small and hard to read, but I did not buy the unit for that, so not an issue for me. Use it in my RV and travel a lot of mountain areas and love it. Like any relative pressure altimeter you need to set it each trip and adjust for changes in pressure along the way but regardless will usually be accurate within a couple hundred feet. If you need more accuracy, spend the money on a GPS. Otherwise, this is a great deal and I like analog gauges better anyway.
