Whether you need a good camping mattress or an extra bed for guests, the king-sized
Coleman Grand Canyon Quickbed is a great choice. The lightweight bed is custom designed for a good night's sleep, with a 56-coil ComfortSmart coil system and a soft suede top for extra comfort. Comfort is further guaranteed by Coleman's AirTight system, which features a double-lock valve that locks in air twice, ensuring a leak-proof performance through the years. No more waking up on the cold, hard ground after a night of slow air release. And campers who are pressed for time will love the included
Coleman 4D pump. The pump, which runs on four D-cell batteries, lets you inflate and deflate the mattress in no time.
The Grand Canyon is also extremely durable and easy to store. The mattress is made of Coleman's heavy-duty PVC formula, which is 15 percent more puncture-resistant than the competition. The Grand Canyon's Wrap 'n' Roll construction, meanwhile, makes packing up a breeze: just roll it into the attached carrier, tie it, and transport it. Designed to fit all standard king-sized sheets, the Grand Canyon measures 78 by 5 by 75 inches (W x H x D).

The Wrap 'n' Roll construction lets you quickly pick up the bed and go. |
About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him,
Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward,
Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years,
Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more.
Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.
Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
Coleman is definitely my favorite brand of air mattress. This particular mattress is made of a thick, durable material that feels like it would not be easily punctured. The top is covered in a soft felt like coating that keeps your sheets from slipping around (a problem I've noticed with smooth top air mattresses). The entire thing wraps up into a bag that is attached permanently to the air mattress.
The only reason I'd give this air mattress anything less than 5 stars is that the included air pump does not have an attachment that snugly fits the air mattress intake valve. There's an attachment that fits, but you have to sit there and hold it in place the entire time the mattress is filling up, and this takes quite a long time as the battery operated pump is quite slow. I clocked my bed's fill up time at 15 minutes.
As well, because the pump's blower end does not fit into the mattress intake valve snugly, it's really difficult to get a firm air level in the mattress. This means that if you like your air mattresses pumped to a relative firmness, then this may not be the air mattress for you. It may be possible to find a pump attachment that fits more snugly, but there was not one included with the mattress.
Rated 4 stars due to a poorly fitting included pump even though the mattress itself is of superior quality.
